“Demat ! Straight from Brittany, in France. I first lived in Scotland for three years where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree. I came back to France to do a Master’s degree in Language Didactics and Teaching French as a Foreign Language. I started out teaching French by giving phonetics course in France before going to Romania, where I taught children, teenagers and adults. I’m passionate about teaching and particularly about passing on my knowledge to children. For me, learning should be effective and fun, and I like to have a playful approach with my learners.”

I started my teaching journey in the United States, first as a French assistant at a university, while also working with an association where I taught French to young children. Since then, I have continued teaching in various settings, including a language institute and FLE/S schools in France, where I’ve had the opportunity to work with diverse audiences at different proficiency levels.

Florence Horthence is my name. I am currently a Ph.D. student. Teaching is my family heirloom. A part from teaching, I also have experiences as Head Teacher of a secondary school in Cameroon, as teacher in Saint Paul’s Convent school and as Assistant Pastoral care in Saint Paul secondary school Happy Valley in Hong Kong. 

Besides strengthening my communication and problem-solving skills, my experiences help me to get along with different cultures, digital culture, international education and to acquire experiences on a global scale.

Thanks to my status, I have a passion for helping others grow  and to achieve their goals as I personally believe in life long learning which is the reason why I push the boundaries.
