TEF Exam Structure
Speaking
The speaking portion of the TEF Exam is conducted as a face-to-face interview, is 15 minutes long, will be based on two topics, and is designed to test your verbal French fluency, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
During our TEF exam preparation classes, your instructor will go over previous topics used in speaking exams and practice with you. You will receive feedback on all aspects that are judged on the actual exam and will be given advice on how you can improve.
Listening
The listening portion of the TEF Exam includes 60 questions to be answered in 40 minutes. It evaluates your ability to understand spoken French in different scenarios.
During our TEF exam preparation classes, your instructor will use various audio exercises to help you develop your listening skills. You will practice with recordings similar to those in the actual exam and receive feedback on your comprehension.
Writing
The writing portion of the TEF Exam requires you to complete two tasks in 60 minutes. This section tests your ability to express yourself in writing by continuing a story and writing an essay.
